MOSD Board of Directors

Memphis Oral School for the Deaf is a non-profit organization in Germantown, TN with the mission to empower deaf children to learn to listen and talk. No sign language is used. For more than 58 years, MOSD has helped children in the Mid-South develop spoken language through oral deaf education methods. There is no other school like MOSD in the Mid-South and many families drive more than 1 1/2 hours each way to have their child attend the programs at MOSD. The cost to educate each child per year is $50,000. Tuition is based on a sliding fee scale, but for many financially-challenged families, MOSD absorbs costs through fundraising efforts. Thanks to generous friends in the community, MOSD has never turned a child away for their family's inability to pay for services. Every dollar raised at this event will go towards scholarship assistance so that every deaf child, regardless of socio-economic background, will be able to develop their own voice. Thank you for your support and the life-long impact you are making in the lives of deaf children.
